I am excited to present a project that took 11 years to make: "Asesu Heals the Middle Passage to Portland (Maine)." It was inspired by my participation as a lead character in a play by a Maine playwright Victor Hersey-Mares -"How Did We Get Here. This piece delves into Maine's maritime history and its ties to the Transatlantic slave trade. This project fosters awareness by exploring pain, healing, grace, and beauty as an Esturay of intergenerational healing. Join me on this journey of reflection, growth, and reconciliation.
